7.5 MONTH OLD GIRL
- symptoms began at 4 months of age when a respiratory tract infection led to cough and wheeze.
- Seen in an emergency department;
A chest x-ray suggested peribronchial thickening, hyperinflation.
- A diagnosis of bronchiolitis was made and treatment was started with antibiotic, oral steroid and nebulized salbutamol
- admitted to hospital and managed with nebulized budesonide and salbutamol. Discharged on the same medication.
- Continued budesonide, 1 mg per day with nebulized salbutamol and
one month ago, switched to Fluticasone 50mcg, 2 puffs bid by maskaerochamber.
